RDM-tools Experiences List

Abstract

The FRDN project group Matchmaking aims to give research support staff an overview of the forest of research data management (RDM) tools used in Flanders. The project group wanted to stimulate the sharing of knowledge and experience between institutes. Therefore, an RDM tools and experiences list is created. This list was started based on existing documents, the architecture matrix of the FOSB, and output from past working groups and shared with all Flemish institutes so anyone could add new tools and experiences. During a networking event for data stewards, more input was gathered in a workshop. This list is a living document for and by the community. Only the minimum necessary metadata is asked for to keep a low threshold. The experience field is not mandatory, although it will significantly benefit this list. However, our priority was to map out a good overview of the tools used per institution. For the moment, it consists of more than a hundred experiences and more than sixty tools. On top of this poster, we advertise this list and try to incentivise people to consult the list to find tools, experiences, and contacts and add their own tools and experiences. In the middle of the poster, we engage people to matchmake during the FRDN-network day with buttons that we provide. Lastly, at the bottom, they can consult the expertise list to look at expertise by topic. Let’s find a match made in data heaven!
