LES DETERMINANTS DU RISQUE DE CREDIT BANCAIRE AU GABON

Abstract

Cet article a pour objectif d’analyser les facteurs internes et macroéconomiques aux banques commerciales qui influencent le risque de crédit bancaire au Gabon de 2010 à 2024. Les modèles Scorings et l’approche ARDL ont été utilisés. Les résultats des scores précisent que les banques commerciales du Gabon sont en perpétuelle « zone à risque ». Les résultats empiriques montrent qu’à long terme, la solvabilité et la taille de la banque influencent négativement le risque de crédit, cependant, la qualité du portefeuille et la FinTech l’influencent positivement. Seul l’inflation influence le taux de défaut de crédit des banques commerciales à court terme. L’analyse de la robustesse par les IRF, aux moyens d’un modèle VEC, révèle que le risque de crédit bancaire serait interactif avec les chocs survenus dans les facteurs explicatifs du modèle, avec la présence d’un caractère tendancielle, suscitant l’intérêt régulier d’une gestion optimale des risques de crédit et l'importance des réformes structurelles pour réduire la vulnérabilité des banques aux risques inhérents.
