The book in hand is an endeavor to raise the issue from special education teachers’ point of view. The book concentrates upon the problems as stated by the teachers of special schools and a suggestive model has been derived at with their help, which, if followed properly will improve upon their condition. This book will certainly prove a help to those who willingly want to do something to help those who really need and deserve help. If this call is heard by the concerned authorities and if something is done in this direction, the authors would think that their work has been rewarded. The book will also be highly useful for research scholars. The present book contains five chapters. The first chapter focuses on conceptual framework and discusses how the task performed by special education teachers is heterogeneous in nature, how it could be more difficult than that in mainstream schools causing over strain to the teachers, how teaching profession, especially in special schools, is dissatisfying leading to high rate of attrition among the teachers. Second chapter focuses upon methodology adopted while pursuing the research work. The third chapter has been dedicated to quantitative analyses of data on job satisfaction and level of stress prevalent among the teachers teaching in special schools. Chapter four follows both qualitative and quantitative approach in finding out the problems faced by the teachers. In chapter five a Suggestive Model, to curb the problems of these teachers, has been derived which is also based on in depth discussion held with the teachers.
