Este material educativo foi elaborado com o objetivo de orientar profissionais de saúde, especialmente da enfermagem, sobre a importância da higiene oral na infância e seu papel fundamental na promoção da saúde bucal desde o nascimento. O folder apresenta diretrizes práticas para a triagem de sinais de risco, intervenções durante a hospitalização, ações educativas com pais e cuidadores, além de cuidados específicos conforme a faixa etária da criança. A proposta reforça a atuação multiprofissional na prevenção de cáries, infecções e complicações evitáveis, mesmo entre profissionais que não são especialistas em odontologia. O conteúdo está alinhado com as diretrizes do Ministério da Saúde e de sociedades científicas, e visa fortalecer a educação em saúde no ambiente clínico e hospitalar.

This educational material was developed with the aim of guiding health professionals, especially nurses, on the importance of oral hygiene in childhood and its fundamental role in promoting oral health from birth. The folder presents practical guidelines for screening for risk signs, interventions during hospitalization, educational actions with parents and caregivers, as well as specific care according to the child's age group. The proposal reinforces the multidisciplinary approach to preventing cavities, infections and preventable complications, even among professionals who are not specialists in dentistry. The content is aligned with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and scientific societies, and aims to strengthen health education in the clinical and hospital environment.
