Connaissances, attitudes, pratiques et perception de la toxoplasmose chez les chefs de ménages à Kinshasa

Abstract

Une enquête menée auprès de 128 chefs de ménage à Kinshasa a permis d'analyser leurs connaissances, pratiques et perceptions concernant la toxoplasmose et d'examiner la relation entre leurs caractéristiques socio-démographiques et leurs connaissances sur cette maladie. Les données ont été collectées à l'aide de questionnaires structurés, couvrant divers aspects de la vie des participants, leurs connaissances sur la toxoplasmose, leurs pratiques de prévention et leurs perceptions de la maladie. Les résultats montrent que la majorité des chefs de ménage sont des hommes jeunes, éduqués et employés. Bien que plus de la moitié n'aient pas entendu parler de la toxoplasmose, les sources d'information comprennent principalement Internet et, dans une moindre mesure, le personnel de santé. Les modes de transmission et les pratiques de prévention sont largement connus et respectés, bien que des perceptions variées existent concernant la gravité de la maladie. L'analyse des relations entre les caractéristiques des chefs de ménage et leurs connaissances montre que les hommes, les individus âgés de 31 à 60 ans, ceux ayant un niveau d'instruction universitaire et les employés sont les mieux informés. Les résultats suggèrent l'importance de renforcer les campagnes d'information et de sensibilisation sur la toxoplasmose.
