This ACCTING report is the final output of Task 5.3 Developing Future Research Agendas. This second report pursues two primary objectives, building on the project’s iterative and cumulative research process. First, it aims to reassess and refine existing knowledge gaps by drawing on new insights generated through the second cycle of research and Open Studios. In doing so, it evaluates how previously identified challenges have evolved or persisted over time, while also highlighting additional questions that emerged during the implementation of the Pilot Actions. Second, the report sets out future research directions, leveraging the empirical evidence gathered from testing various solutions in real-world settings. These targeted research avenues are designed to meet immediate policy demands while addressing longer-term social and environmental imperatives, with a particular emphasis on strategies that promote inclusivity in climate action and attend to context-specific barriers.
