
Pashto folk literature represents various social realities through poetic expressions, with Landai being a crucial form. This article explores the representation of women’s grief and protest in Pashto Landai. Through qualitative and analytical methods, the research investigates the socio-cultural reasons behind women’s sorrow, including forced marriages, dowries, poverty, and patriarchal customs. Primary sources, observations, and interviews are employed. The study highlights how Pashto women use Landai as a tool of resistance and emotional expression.
