Abstract

Entre 2018 y 2025 se realizaron diversas observaciones de campo en parcelas experimentales y comerciales en el estado de Nayarit, México, con el objetivo de documentar posibles interacciones entre la aplicación de Trichoderma asperellum y la proliferación natural de mariquitas (Coccinellidae) en cultivos de maíz. En cuatro ciclos agrícolas distintos —2018, 2019, 2023 y 2025— se identificó una tendencia recurrente: la presencia de mariquitas fue más notable en las parcelas tratadas con T. asperellum, tanto en maíz criollo como en híbrido. Estas observaciones se llevaron a cabo en el Instituto Tecnológico de Tepic, la Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit (Xalisco), y en un campo agrícola de 7 hectáreas en Tecuala, donde únicamente las áreas con aplicación de Trichoderma mostraron presencia significativa de mariquitas y menor incidencia de gusanos defoliadores. Aunque se trata de evidencia observacional, los resultados sugieren una posible interacción ecológica positiva entre T. asperellum y los enemigos naturales de las plagas. Este fenómeno abre nuevas perspectivas para integrar microorganismos benéficos del suelo con agentes de control biológico, como parte de estrategias agroecológicas en el manejo sostenible del cultivo de maíz.
