A mathematical approach for the analysis of three-dimensional problems of stress and strain state of thick laminated orthotropic plates under thermal loading is developed. The solution is based on the expansion of the sought displacements in double trigonometric Fourier series with a factor being a combination of unknown functions over the third variable. Both the real and complex roots of the characteristic equation as well as the type of expansion of the unknown functions through the thickness of the plate are defined. Results of the analysis of sandwich plates are presented and discussed.
