New Horizons for Higher Education: Teaching and Learning with Generative AI

Abstract

This report examines Generative AI's transformative impact on higher education across three core dimensions: its effects on current teaching and assessment practices; emerging GAI pedagogical approaches and associated risks; and the intersection of GAI with digital transformation, regulation, and future skills development. Drawing from international best practices and early research findings, the report provides actionable recommendations and strategic guidance for institutional leaders implementing GAI solutions that align with institutional values and strategic priorities. The analysis balances consideration of academic integrity concerns with opportunities for personalized learning at scale.
