Engenharia de Petróleo - Escola Politécnica da USP - Projeto Pedagógico de Curso - 2024

Abstract

The Academic Program of the Petroleum Engineering Course at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo outlines the structure of professional education for Petroleum Engineers, based on the National Curriculum Guidelines for undergraduate engineering programs in Brazil. It defines the curriculum structure, course objectives, graduate profile, and required competencies, including the development of engineering solutions, teamwork, effective communication, innovation, and ethical, legal, and environmental responsibility. The document describes the teaching and learning methods, faculty structure and career progression, assessment processes, supervised internship, and final project. It also covers institutional policies on student access, support, and retention, and presents initiatives in internationalization, community engagement, entrepreneurship, research integration, graduate education, and alumni tracking. The program aims to prepare engineers with technical qualifications aligned with the requirements of the oil sector and the current demands of engineering practice.
