This article explores the historical development of Educational Therapy (EdTx) from Germany, and after World War 2, the pioneers in EdTx migrated to the West, especially the United Kingdom and the United States of America where several institutes for EdTx were founded, including the Association of Educational Therapists (founded in 1979). The authors also went on to explain the official endorsement of EdTx by the World Health Organization in 1986 and the specialized field of EdTx was eventually given an official Procedural Code 93.82 listed in the International Classification of Diseases-9th Edition-Clinical Modification, Vol. 3 (ICD-9-CM).
