This data was produced as part of the ForestCO2 project (EO and in situ based information framework to support generating Carbon Credits in forestry), which was funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, grant no. 6686. Afforestation potential sites for Serbia were calculated based on criteria find in literature (check species.R for criterias). Species covered in this study: Pinus nigra Pinus sylvestris Picea abies Quercus petraea Quercus robur Populus Spp. The repository consists of the following files: species.jpeg - final map with percentage [%] of critera met. species.tif - final map with percentage [%] of critera met in GeoTiff format. Each criteria is ranked with 0, 1, or 2 points based on Degree of limitation (land index): S1 (100-75) -> 2 points S2 (75-50) -> 1 point N (50-0) -> 0 pointsAll rank criteria maps are then summarized and percentage of criteria met is calculated (summarized points / total points * 100). species.zip - all criteria raster files (.tif) used for specific species with values 0, 1, or 2. species.R - R script used to calculate afforestation potential sites for Serbia for specific speaces. data.zip - all raster files (.tif) for Serbia used for criterias calculation osm_nominatim.zip - Serbain borders
