
The socio-economic context of the current business environment is characterized by constant changes that require the employee to be trained continually to enhance the organization's competitiveness. This conceptual paper explores the influence of employee training programs on organizational performance, emphasizing their critical role in addressing skill gaps and fostering productivity. The research evaluates the effects of training content, mode of delivery, trainer accreditation, and employees’ involvement on the enhancement of organizational performance. The research uses a secondary research approach solely based on qualitative data from scholarly articles, books, and other historical and current sources. Some of the key findings emphasized focusing on the goals of training, the efficiency of delivering, and the competent trainers in training programs. The recommendations include the use of the interactive and targeted approach, increasing the level of trainers’ experience, and encouraging employee participation during the training. Still, the study recognizes some limitations including lack of empirical testing and the reliance on secondary sources of information; the authors recommend other studies to employ primary data. In conclusion, this paper underscores the strategic significance of well-structured training programs in enhancing organizational performance. This paper is useful in the provision of relevant information to organizations that aim to be successful in their respective competitive markets.
