Gross National Happiness Index: A Need For India Towards Sustainable Development

Abstract

Concepts such as maximization and happiness have been key concepts in business psychology for years. The happy movement represents a new concept that includes social, economic and environmental processes to enhance human well-being through sustainability indicators. Exciting currencies are being used worldwide to collect information, and governments are beginning to explore their legal use. The Himalayan nation of Bhutan has pioneered the development and promotion of another development model known as Gross National Happiness, which aims to use a balanced approach to determine what needs to be done first to ensure the happiness of people and their people. It is important that Indian policymakers are coordinated and involved in the process as the concept of Total National Happiness takes shape. This paper proposes and presents a new strategy to investigate the relationship between sustainability and health to promote sustainable development in India. It may help in investigating the importance and significance of GNH in policy making.
