Bleiben oder Gehen? Eine fächerspezifische Analyse von Geschlechterunterschieden im Anstreben einer Professur an deutschen Hochschulen

Abstract

Frauen sind auf Professuren nach wie vor unterrepräsentiert. In der Diskussion werden dafür häufig Benachteiligungen bei Berufungen genannt. Die aktuelle Forschung zeigt jedoch, dass dies heute nicht mehr der Fall zu sein scheint.Vielmehr bewerben sich promovierte Frauen in allen hier untersuchten Fächergruppen seltener auf Professuren als ihre männlichen Kollegen. In diesem Beitrag wird daher zum einen untersucht, ob Frauen nach der Promotion schneller und häufiger aus der Wissenschaft ausscheiden als Männer, und zum anderen, ob dies mit Geschlechterunterschieden im Anstreben einer Professur oder dem Wunsch, in der Wissenschaft zu verbleiben, übereinstimmt.
