Driving innovation and impact with research community building

Abstract

This presentation was given on 18th March 2025 in a workshop at AIUK - https://ai-uk.turing.ac.uk/programme-2025/ Description of workshop: Want AI to succeed? It’s not just about the tech—it’s about people. The best AI tools thrive on diverse contributions, proactive research engagement, and expert facilitation to bring stakeholders together. Enter the Research Community Manager: the behind-the-scenes linchpin driving collaboration, strategy, and impact. As AI innovation accelerates, this role is more critical than ever. Join us to discover what it takes to build thriving research communities—and why thinking like a community manager could drive innovation and impact. This workshop (Scientific Research Community Management (RCM-101)) was originally developed for and delivered at Office for National Statistics Research Capability 2024: Building Research Capability and Community.
