Orthorectified video at Hommerich station, Geul River, The Netherlands

Abstract

Video was taken at 2024-10-10T08:17:17 at the peak of a high flow event. The original video was taken at 1920x1080 resolution with 30 frames per second. Orthorectification was performed using PyOpenRiverCam (https://github.com/localdevices/pyorc), using 6 control points, measured with Real-Time-Kinematics GNSS to constrain k1 and k2 barrel distortion, focal length, and rotation and translation of the camera. Resolution is 0.01 meter in x and y direction. The video is meant as a test case for image velocimetry methods and uploaded to support tests and examples of the PyOpenRiverCam and Fast and Flexible Particle Image Velocimetry (FF-PIV) libraries. For more information, visit https://github.com/localdevices/ffpiv The video can be re-purposed for any other velocimetry experiment. The following files are included: 20241010_081717.mp4 : original video file 20241010_081717_ortho.mp4 : orthorectified video hommerich_frames_20241010_081717.zip : zip-file containing orthorectified frames, stored as .JPG images. hommerich_20241010_081717_pyorc_data.zip.zip : zip-file containing pyorc (test with v0.8.0) commands, recipe and camera configuration files. Two commands are included. One that processes with a known set water level from an external device, and one that attempts to estimate the water level optically.
