Comments on Section 5.3 of the 2025 Draft of the Research Infrastructure Guide (RIG)

Abstract

This document includes comments on the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Draft Research Infrastructure Guide (RIG) submitted on the behalf of the Research Infrastructure Security Community (RISC). Comments were submitted to the NSF’s Research Infrastructure Office on 6 March 2025. The Research Infrastructure Security Community (RISC) is a community of practice facilitated by Trusted CI for NSF-community technology and security practitioners. RISC is composed of technology leaders and professionals who, in many cases, will be the ones tasked with implementing the cybersecurity requirements that appear in the NSF Research Infrastructure Guide. These comments were developed in consultation with the full membership of the Research Infrastructure Security Community. However, only those named individuals on the cover page should be considered commenters. The views and opinions expressed herein are those of the individuals identified and do not necessarily represent the views and opinions of any entities they represent.
