This Policy brief is informed by research done by the COOLSCHOOLS project, analysing the co-benefits of implementing nature-based solutions (NBS) for climate adaptation in “nature-based climate shelters in schools” (NBCSS). Along with best practices examined across four case study cities (Barcelona, Brussels, Paris, Rotterdam), findings were “translated” by the project into pedagogical resources (i.e. Guidelines for schools, a MOOC for teachers, and a user-friendly action plan to help educators plan schoolyard transformations or greening initiatives in schools).
