TOXICOLOGICAL IMPACT OF MALACHITE GREEN ON HUMANS

Abstract

Malachite green (MG; C23H25ClN2) is an Azo (R-N=N-R) basic dye belongs to triarylmethane family member, which is widely used as a parasiticide and for other purposes in the food, health, textile, and aquaculture industries. Concerns about the use of Malachite Green have been raised a lot due to its purportedly hazardous qualities. At varying doses and temperatures over time, this dye becomes more toxic. Malachite Green has been detected in food products and fish, meant for human consumption. Moreover, it may still be used to treat ornamental fish, and people who do so typically handle and discard the fish incorrectly. Because of its quick airborne dispersion and tendency to infect handlers due to its physical and chemical properties, it is dangerous for human health. It is to be studied that how malachite green is absorbed, distributed, metabolized, or excreted in humans exposed to it, but there is a strong possibility that it could cause harmful diseases in people. Malachite Green affects several vital organs and systems in the body, including the brain, kidney, liver, and heart. Hence, we must include herbs on a daily basis. Awareness of the harmful effects of MG should be given to the laymen and people involved in related industries. Moreover, government should make stricter laws and should check their implementation too. These little steps would definitely help in the reduction of the usage of this toxicant and if it came in contact, the dietary consumption of herbs will do the job of protecting against the harm done with the exposure.

Keywords

Malachite green, human health, inhalation, molucular docking, vital organs.
