Citizen Science vs. Geschichtswissenschaften? Under construction: Kirchengeschichte in Wikidata und co.

Abstract

Der Workshop bietet eine Einführung in die Citizen Science Projekte Wikidata und FactGrid für den Einsatz in den Geisteswissenschaften. Neben einer Einführung in die Grundkonzepte der Datenmodellierung dieser beiden Ressourcen steht die Vermittlung von Kompetenzen bei der Verwendung der Abfragesprache SPARQL auf der Wikidata-Plattform im Zentrum. Für die praktische Anwendung werden kirchengeschichtliche Schlüsselereignisse, die Weihe wichtiger Kathedral- und Stiftskirchen im Mittelalter unter Teilnahme des Königs oder Kaisers, analysiert und verdatet. Unter Nachnutzung von Normdaten aus dem "Wissensaggregator Mittelalter und Frühe Neuzeit (WIAG)" werden Lösungswege zur Modellierung solcher Daten diskutiert und Möglichkeiten und Grenzen des Einsatzes von Citizen Science Projekten ausgelotet. Ein Ausblick auf den Einsatz der Datenbank FactGrid in dem aktuellen drittmittelgeförderten Verbundprojekt "Forschungsdateninfrastruktur Historische Quellen" rundet die Einführung ab.
