Abstract

Böden weltweit enthalten knapp 3.100 Gigatonnen Kohlenstoff. Das sind umgerechnet 3.1 Billionen Tonnen. Somit zählen Böden global zu einem der wichtigsten Kohlenstoffspeicher. Interessant dabei: Feuchtgebiete, wie Moore und Flussauen enthalten 30 % des gesamten Boden-Kohlenstoffs, obwohl sie nur 3 % der Erdoberfläche ausmachen. Zweifellos sind diese Ökosysteme von großer Wichtigkeit in Bezug auf den globalen Kohlenstoffkreislauf und Klimawandel. Im Rahmen dieser biochemischen Analyse wurden Bodenproben an sieben Standorten im Augebiet des Szigetköz entnommen und auf acht verschiedene Parameter untersucht. Dabei lag besonderer Fokus auf dem organischen Kohlenstoffanteil (Corg) und den pflanzenverfügbaren Nährstoffen (Ammonium, Nitrit, Nitrat und Phosphat). In weiterer Folge wurde statistisch untersucht, wie sich die einzelnen Parameter in Bezug auf die verschiedenen Habitattypen auswirken. Der durchschnittliche Corg-Gehalt der sieben Entnahmestandorte liegt bei 6,25 % und ist deutlich vom Habitattyp abhängig. Weiters konnten interessante Zusammenhänge zwischen dem Wassergehalt und Nitrit sowie Nitrat festgestellt werden, was auf die Prozesse der Nitrifikation und Denitrifikation zurückzuführen ist. Der Gehalt und die Verteilung der untersuchten Parameter ist stark auf die komplexen Prozesse im Augebiet zurückzuführen.
