Abstract

Laboratorio Nomade di Comunità is a research project promoted by the Research Unit in Community Design at the University of the Republic of San Marino, the Advanced Design Unit at Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, and the University of Applied Sciences Stuttgart. Among its key initiatives was the curatorship of the San Marino Pavilion at the 2023 Architecture Biennale, titled Ospite, ospitante. As part of the project, a mapping and classification phase was conducted to analyze the activities carried out within the pavilion. This process identified a dataset of 36 activities, systematically coded using a multi-digit classification system comprising: A sequential number indicating the chronological order of the activities; One or more uppercase letters—such as C (Community), R (Religion), F (Food), and M (Multispecies)—to represent the overarching themes established in the curatorial framework of the Pavilion; One or more lowercase letters—such as r (research), e (event), m (meeting), s (seminar), w (workshop), and x (exhibition)—to specify the type of activity. Additionally, the database includes references to key stakeholders associated with each activity, including designers, curators, and institutional partners. (Database Version1)
