Si offre un'interpretazione del significato dei termini cantica, canzone e canto nel lessico dantesco e una nuova ipotesi relativa all'origine della terza rima, che viene messa in rapporto con il distico a rima baciata della poesia narrativa e con lo sperimentalismo metrico evidente nella canzone di Dante Amor, tu vedi ben che questa donna.
