Abstract

La plupart des travaux académiques et scientifiques appréhendent le concept d’échec entrepreneurial à partir de critères et d’éléments dualistes les opposant parfois les uns par rapport aux autres. Ces approches dans lesquelles s’inscrivent nombre des chercheurs restent focalisées uniquement sur les critères de mesures classiques (objectifs et subjectifs) renforçant ainsi les controverses et les arguments sexistes sur la comparaison homme-femme. En accord avec Carrier et al. (2006) qui proposent d’aller au-delà des approches connues, pour montrer la manière dont des facteurs culturels peuvent permettre une compréhension fine des concepts, cette étude se propose d’investiguer les femmes entrepreneures en Côte d’Ivoire (contexte culturellement fort). Adoptant une démarche interprétative basée sur des observations participantes et des récits de vie dans trois régions du pays, nous montrons que l’échec des femmes entrepreneures suit une logique processuelle qui prend forme dans l’interaction entre l’entrepreneure et les acteurs de son milieu socioculturel.
