The fourth meeting of the Observational Medical Outcome Partnership (OMOP) Special Interest Group, hosted by the Health Data Research Alliance, focused on the advancement of real-world evidence (RWE) and the OMOP common data model in healthcare research. Key discussions included the establishment of the Real-World Evidence Network, supported by HDR UK, which aims to enhance data-driven research through a coordinated UK-wide initiative. Presentations covered various aspects of OMOP implementation, including its application in paediatric research, regulatory decision-making, and NHS data mapping efforts. The meeting also highlighted challenges such as data standardisation, governance, and collaboration across sectors to maximise the impact of real-world data in medical research.
