USO DE TABACO POR ADOLESCENTES ESCOLARES BRASILEIROS

Abstract

Objetivo(s): Descrever a prevalência de indicadores de uso de tabaco por adolescentes escolares brasileiros. Método: Estudo transversal e descritivo, com abordagem quantitativa. Foram utilizados dados da Pesquisa Nacional de Saúde do Escolar (PeNSE) de 2019, realizada pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), com o objetivo de fornecer informações atualizadas sobre fatores de risco e proteção da saúde dos escolares. Os dados foram usados para estimar a prevalência de indicadores de uso de tabaco por adolescentes de 13 a 17 anos. A PeNSE foi aprovada pela Comissão Nacional de Ética em Pesquisa do Conselho Nacional de Saúde sob o n° 3.249.268, de 08 de abril de 2019. Resultados: Entre os adolescentes entrevistados, 21,5% já experimentaram cigarro alguma vez na vida, dentre eles, 43,91% com 13 anos ou menos. Nos 30 dias anteriores à pesquisa, houve o uso de tabaco por 28,9% dos adolescentes. Além disso, 22,3% dos escolares relatam já ter experimentado narguilé e 18,5% já experimentaram cigarro eletrônico. Em relação ao consumo de tabaco pelos pais ou responsáveis, 19,9% das respostas foram positivas. Conclusão: Conclui-se que uma porcentagem significativa dos escolares faz o uso do tabaco, sendo a experimentação do tabaco com 13 anos ou menos, o pior indicador encontrado.
