Guanabo Beach, located in the Sibarimar Cove, Havana, Cuba, is a coastal sector, for decades, have been affected by the process of erosion and at the moment presents a critical environmental situation. The study area has an approximate longitude of 1 974 m and extends among the streets 462 and 500, perpendicular to this beach. The main objective of the present work is to show the current state of this littoral section and to offer the design parameters for the conformation of a unique dunar cord, following the previous national and international experiences. Guanabo Beach has a very degraded area of dunes due to the intense urbanization of this coastal sector. These dunes have little development and break into fragments given the presence of rigid constructions, perpendicular intersections to the coastline and collected of sewers that drainages until the swimming area. It is proposed the construction of a continuous dune, with a height between the 3 and 4 m above the sea level, a width among 30 and 35 m, and slopes with range between 15 and 20°, and to follow that purpose a total volume of 99 130 m3 of fluffy sand is needed. Intends the construction of 18 gangplanks to access to the beach. To achieve an effective execution of the project it is necessary, as well, to eliminate the elements that contribute to the deterioration of this coastal sector and harm the stability and maintenance of the rehabilitated dune, as well as the amplification of the sunny area.
