
Workplace counselling is the offering of mental health support to the employees or team as funded by the organization. Despite the employee counselling programs in place, issues such as substance abuse/dependence, absenteeism, work related accidents, and increased medical costs, among others, remain common among organizations’ employees. Such issues contribute to reduced job performance and adversely affect the psychological health of employees. . The study adopted a correlational research design and was anchored on the social exchange theory, stakeholders theory, and goal-freedom theory.The study targeted 178 employees of Hasbah Kenya limited. The study used the sample of 90 employees sampled using proportionate stratified sampling.Primary data was collected using structured and semi-structured questionnaires. Pilot test was conducted with 10% of the population hence 18 employees. The study used content and construct validity. Reliability was tested using Cronbach’s Alpha indicated an overall high 0.841 questionnaire reliability score. Data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 23. The findings were presented in tables. The unstandardized coefficient for health related problem counselling (β =0.497, p=0.078) indicating that for each unit increase in health related problem counselling, employee performance increases by approximately 0.497 units, The study recommends the organization should focus on enhancing the practices on health related counseling. The organization need to create a forum where employees freely give views on the specific challenges and barriers in accessing health related problem counseling programs.
