Abstract

A ópera Tiradentes, de Manoel Joaquim de Macedo Júnior (1845-1925), foi composta a partir do libreto do escritor e político Antônio Augusto de Lima (1859-1934). O drama lírico orquestral, organizado em quatro atos e 31 personagens, trata acerca do movimento da Inconfidência Mineira ocorrido entre os anos de 1789 a 1792. Nosso texto promove uma breve informação acerca do libreto de Lima e sua relação com a escrita musical de Macedo na construção da personagem Marília.
