This study explored research philosophy using epistemological approach in management sciences. The knowledge of research is essential to have a broad spectrum about a phenomenon. The use of appropriate research method dependents on good knowledge of research paradigm, unit of analysis and the choice of method that is applicable within chosen research philosophy. The study examined importance of epistemological approach to research and gave typical evidences of the relationship between symbolic-interpretive perspective and function –systemic perspective of research methods looking at how reality can be famous (epistemology) and the techniques to use in gathering data. The study concluded that conjoining objectivity and subjectivity of research design to inter-subjectivity through epistemological approach, benefits philosophical building by management science researchers to explicate data gathering, analysis and interpretation.
