one-time sampling + rapid assessment 2023 ################ Camera trap data for 2022 and 2023. One camera was installed on the trunk of a tree at each patch, positioned at a height of approximately 40 to 60 cm above the ground and oriented toward the center of the patch. In 2022, we sampled the 90 patches in the University Forest and the 90 patches in the Bavarian Forest. In 2023, we sampled the 54 patches of the Satellite sites and 54 patches of the Rapid Assessment sites. In both years the cameras operated continuously from the end of March to the end of July. Images were identified in Trapper using an AI approach. Single images that could not be identified automatically were identified by Jörg Müller. ################ We greatly acknowledge the help of: Michael Junginger, Ruth Pickert, Sophia Hochrein, Katharina Kallnik, Lukas Schneider, Manuel Mauermann, Tim Becker, Tamara Rosch, Julius Schneider, Interns of the Bavarian Forest Nationalpark and all other assistants
