2024 India FABLE Calculator UP46 v1

Abstract

The FABLE Calculator (FABLE-C) is an open tool created in 2018 for the FABLE initiative (fableconsortium.org). Since its launch, it has been developed, regularly updated and improved through the release of update packages by the FABLE Secretariat in collaboration with members of the FABLE Consortium (FABLE Calculator 2020 updated documentation). This version of the FABLE Calculator for India builds on a version created by the FABLE Secretariat which was pre-filled with data for India from available global databases. This version includes improvements made by the authors regarding: Indian dietary recommendations, historical synthetic fertilizer consumption, yield potentials, mapping processed crops as per country, etc. All the update packages which have been released by the FABLE Secretariat until update package UP#46 have been implemented by the authors. The authors are part of the FABLE team for India, more information can be found here. The uploaded version has been used in the Sustainable Development Report 2024 and Pathways for food and land-use systems in India (2024). A previous version of the calculator has been used in the following publication: Jha, C. K., et al. (2023)
