To study the ancient history of Manipur, we need to focus on three main areas in parallel: trade routes (especially the Southern Silk Route), archaeological evidence, and textual/ literary sources. This framework is not final or fixed. While these areas provide a foundational structure, we can also explore other topics such as language, polo, ritual songs, and more. This presentation offers an overview of these three main areas.
