Abstract

This article discusses the reasons and prerequisites for the beginning The ten-day war in Slovenia, which led to its secession from Yugoslavia and independence in 1991. It also shows external interference in the conflict, which consisted in the support of the Slovenian government by the states of Germany and the Vatican, which recognized its independence. Slovenia was able to gain independence from Yugoslavia fairly quickly, which was facilitated by the political and economic crises inside Yugoslavia, as well as the external support of the Slovenian leadership.
