Sanga literature is referred to as Pattu Thogai. In this, Pattu means ten literature and Thogai means eightfold. A large part of the Pattuppat is composed of Aarthupadai texts. In these books, the poets explain about the kings, their hospitality, the food and clothing of the citizens, and the elements of life through people like Panar, Virali, Porunan etc. Aartuppadai literature is a time-piece that explains the various phases of the life of artists like Panar, Virali, Prativana, etc. Porunan's life in a state of poverty with his neighbors, Karikaal Peruvalathan's love for artists like Porunan, the richness of the river Cauvery, the mind-blowing amount of land resources, and the fact that women composed music and sang songs can be known through Porunaratupadai. When Porunan and his entourage were traveling in the land of milk, the milky water was enough to make them faint if they met the people on the way. The high morals of the ancient people were that others like them should also get all the riches they got. This article shows that the people of that time lived a long life in poverty.
