Striving for Inclusive Excellence in Science and Engineering Research: A Pocket Guide

Abstract

This Research Pocket Guide is a dynamic reference tool that is useful to a broad range of researchers in science and engineering. It is structured around the theme of adventure, offering "Starter equipment" to support development of EDI core competencies, in addition to six main sections offering actionable ideas for integrating deliberative equitable practices into research journeys: (1) Assembling research teams; (2) Fostering inclusion within teams; (3) Designing & conducting research; (4) Communicating science research; (5) Leadership and mentorship in research; (6) Travel considerations.
