In this work, we will explore the study of social processes of subjectivation based on variations and thematic developments in the publishing field. The proposal is to observe how publishing participates into cultural mediation processes, as a provider of mechanisms/devices for communication and social action. This requires the review of representative cases of publishing genres historically related to ways of being and expressing of social groups; then we will show the productivity of linking the particular studies of each genre, starting from the recognition of the social and discursive relationships established between modes of contemporary subjectivity in dispute and certain publishing genres. The focus will be on globalized individualism and social memory recovered locally and regionally, as expressions of a constant and ongoing tension.
