Resumen El ensayo tiene como propósito generar aportes teóricos que fomenten el desarrollo de competencias del liderazgo efectivo en la educación universitaria, desde una perspectiva epistemológica constructivista y compleja. Constructivista por tratarse de la construcción consensuada de las percepciones de los actores involucrados en procesos de liderazgo, la literatura del área y la interpretación que pueda generarse de los aportes que pueda emerger al interpretar los procesos de la temática abordada, y compleja por su cualidad de fenómeno macro-concepto, multidimensionalidad que debe tomar en cuenta el contexto organizacional y social donde este se produce. El ensayo se suscribe en el paradigma interpretativo, a fin de lograr una mayor aproximación a las realidades experienciales de los actores. El método que se utilizará está apoyado en una investigación documental pala lo cual se utilizará la técnica bibliográfica, la cual permitirá el contacto directo con los documentos que respalden la temática del hecho educativo, mirados desde las teorías del liderazgo. La interpretación de la información permitió organizar los hechos en categorías de saberes a partir de acciones compartidas en las instituciones universitarias, como base para la sistematización y generación de los constructos teóricos que orienten el desarrollo de competencias de liderazgo efectivo.

Abstract The purpose of the essay is to generate theoretical contributions that promote the development of effective leadership competencies in university education, from a constructivist and complex epistemological perspective. Constructivist because it is the consensual construction of the perceptions of the actors involved in leadership processes, the literature of the area and the interpretation that may be generated from the contributions that may emerge when interpreting the processes of the topic addressed, and complex due to its quality of macro-concept phenomenon, multidimensionality that must take into account the organizational and social context where it occurs. The essay subscribes to the interpretive paradigm, in order to achieve a greater approximation to the experiential realities of the actors. The method that will be used is supported by documentary research for which the bibliographic technique will be used, which will allow direct contact with the documents that support the theme of the educational fact, viewed from the theories of leadership. The interpretation of the information allowed the facts to be organized into categories of knowledge based on shared actions in university institutions, as a basis for the systematization and generation of theoretical constructs that guide the development of effective leadership competencies.
