FAIR-IMPACT’s RPO support programme aimed to help research performing organisations to better understand their drivers for becoming more FAIR-enabling, to self-assess their current FAIR-enabling capacity and develop plans for improvement. During the support programme participants were asked to undertake at least one engagement activity to facilitate awareness raising and/or to enable cooperation and collaboration with peers across the organisation. The support programme ran between February and October 2024 with a series of ten virtual workshops where participants were introduced to key concepts to support their journey toward becoming more FAIR-enabling followed by peer exchange workshops and one-to-one meetings with FAIR-IMPACT mentors. This FAIR Implementation Story outlines the specific aims and actions of the University of Milan in relation to their participation in the RPO support programme. "During the RPO support programme we decided to focus on implementing our training courses on research data management. Indeed, UNIMI already has a research data management policy (see https://www.unimi.it/it/ateneo/normative/policy/policy-sulla-gestione-dei-dati-della-ricerca-rdm) and the Open Science unit – which we are part of – already provides support in the writing of DMPs and carries out a yearly specific project on DMPs for PhD candidates". Supported applicant: Dario Basset, Laura Giovinazzi, Carolina Manfredini - Università degli Studi di Milano
