Türkçe'de Günlük Hayatta Sık Kullanılan Bazı Kelimelerin Kökenleri

Abstract

This study was prepared to provide information about the origins of words used daily in Turkish. In the selection of the words in question, words frequently used in daily life were preferred. The exact determination of these words was carried out with 12th grade students of vocational high school. In the said determination process, previously prepared words were given to the students and they were asked which of the given words they knew the origins of. As a result of the answers received from the students, this study emerged within the framework of words whose origins they did not know. The total number of words detected in this way was 15. As a method, Turkish Dictionaries provided by the Turkish Language Association were primarily preferred in the examination of the origins of the 15 words detected.
