Arquitetura ∴ Ontologia ∴ Magia

Arquitetura ∴ Ontologia ∴ Magia

Abstract

We will share the experience of the Research Project "Architecture, Ontology and Magic", which explores the boundaries between the elements that compose its title, understanding them as archetypal to think about current issues, such as the decadence of institutions, the environmental collapse or the emergence of generative artificial intelligences. In all these cases, in our understanding it is an architectural crisis, of ontological scope, which opens space for a reanimation of the concept of magic. In this crossing of a border that is perhaps not "only" historical, we intend to situate architecture as a strategic point of observation and expression. We aim to present the state of the art of research in the year 2024, with a focus on its most recent methodology and results. The methods used include drifts, flaneurs, and automations, in physical, intellectual, and visual modalities, serving as tools for generating and taking advantage of significant synchronies and coincidences.
