Available data and code for the paper "Model Sensitivity to Insolation Forcing and Uncertainties in Holocene Temperature Simulations"

Abstract

These are the shared data and code for the journal publication of the "Model Sensitivity to Insolation Forcing and Uncertainties in Holocene Temperature Simulations" published by Paleoceanography and Paleoclimatology. The paper can be found at: https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1029/2024PA004958 *The available data includes: (1) Post-processed decadal mean (seasonal and annual) iTRACE data used in this study. TS: surface temperature (K)TREFHT: 2-meter temperature (K)SHFLX: sensible heat flux (W/m2)LHFLX: latent heat flux (W/m2)FLNS: Net longwave flux at surface (W/m2)FLNSC: Clearsky net longwave flux at surface (W/m2)FLDS: Downwelling longwave flux at surface (W/m2)FSNS: Net solar flux at surface (W/m2)FSDS: Downwelling solar flux at surface (W/m2)FSNT: Net solar flux at top of model (W/m2)FLNT: Net longwave flux at top of model (W/m2)Q.integral: Vertically-integrated specific humidity: column moisture content (mm) (2) Post-processed monthly climatology data retrieved from PMIP4 mid-Holocene simulations, pre-industrial control simulations, abrupt 4XCO2 simulations, and iTRACE Holocene simulations. (3) Post-processed "Temp12k" dataset used in this study. *The available code includes: Python code for Fig. 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6d (named "Fig*-code.py") in the main text and supplementary of the "Model Sensitivity to Insolation Forcing and its Implications for the Holocene Temperature Conundrum". More post-processed iTRACE-Holocene data can be found at: https://zenodo.org/records/14523565 We thank coauthor Lingfeng Wan and Jiuyou Lu for conducting the Holocene iTRACE simulations.
