
Puccinia cyperi Arthur Type:— Holotype in PUR. Description:—See Harada (1979) and Hiratsuka et al. (1992). Hosts and distribution in Japan:— II on Cyperus cyperoides (L.) O. Kuntze (Ogasawara) (Harada 1979a, Hiratsuka et al. 1992). Notes:—This species is widely distributed in North and South America, Pacific Islands and East Asia including China, Taiwan and Russian Far East (Tai 1979, Zhuang et al. 1998, Kuo & Chen 1999, Azbukina 2005), but in Japan it has been recorded only in its uredinial stage from Ogasawara Island.
