Versions and Values: Exploring DH Coding Communities and Practices on GitHub

Abstract

Within the Digital Humanities, GitHub has become the platform for code work. Yet how DH scholars use GitHub and the impact of these practices on research and teaching remains underexplored. This poster presents ongoing research exploring practices captured within GitHub, highlighting results from our data collection via the GitHub API. This poster was accepted and presented at the DH2024 conference in Washington, D.C.
