Abstract

This briefing provides an overview of Smart Rurality and its components. It also analyses how Smart Rurality entered EU policies over the last ten years and how far current EU policies contribute at creating an enabling policy environment for Smart Rurality. To conclude, recommendations to reinforce Smart Rurality in the post-2027 EU programming period are presented.
