Abstract

1 .mp3 file with an excerpt from an online interview with Martin Katz on 22 July 2024, created in the course of research for the hybrid publication, combining the monograph Accompaniment in America: Contextualizing Collaborative Piano (Routledge, 2025) and the Martin Katz digital repository collection: https://accompanimentinamerica.website/katz-collection.html. The online interview was led by Chanda VanderHart, with audio editing by Bill Lloyd and Franz Schaden. In it, Katz reflects on his own biography and his work with Gwendolyn Koldofsky at the University of Southern California. This work has been generously subsidized by Dr. Jean Barr.
