This is chapter 11 of the State of Environmental Science in Svalbard (SESS) report 2024 (https://sios-svalbard.org/SESS_Issue7). The InfraNor project illustrates the importance of the national investments in research infrastructure, in Svalbard and its surrounding oceans, including a coherent data management system. It constitutes the Norwegian contribution to SIOS for the benefit of its members and their communities. It tallies 42 items (infrastructures and space-related activities/products) already implemented or soon to be fully implemented under the responsibility of 14 Norwegian research institutions. Emphasis is on upgrading existing and establishing new infrastructure to produce a more coherent dataset among sites with similar instruments to help to address Earth System Science questions related to Global Change. InfraNor focuses also on developing new technology that will reduce the footprint of future scientific activities in Svalbard, e.g., by deploying instrument pods aboard commercial airliners in regular traffic to map ocean characteristics.

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 0 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
