This presentation introduces the recent efforts of the volume electron microscopy community to network globally and to build resources for imaging scientists and end users, and discuss challenges in the scale and multimodality of correlative image data. The presentation was delivered by Lucy Collinson, Head of Electron Microscopy at The Francis Crick Institute, UK, during the foundingGIDE Community Meeting in Okazaki, Japan (31 October–01 November 2024). foundingGIDE: founding a Global Imaging Data Ecosystem is a EU Horizon-funded project between Euro-BioImaging ERIC, EMBL, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (Italy), German BioImaging, Global BioImaging, RIKEN (Japan), Microscopy Australia and Australian National Imaging Facility. | selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 0 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
